Are you getting ready to pile the kids into an RV or campervan and drive off into the sunset? You’re not the only one. There’s a growing community of nomads across the US and Europe who have chosen to live in RVs. Check out the three sites below for technical tips, how-to guides, and emotional support.

1. Families on the Road

Families On The Road (FOTR) is a resource for families who are choosing not to wait until their kids are grown to hit the road in a Recreational Vehicle (motorhome, big rig, bicycle, boat, etc). You’ll find a lively forum and tons of practical advice.

2. Escapees RV Club

Not just for families, Escapees offers tons of resources, including a bimonthly magazine, books, bootcamps, and an online forum. Many of the resources require a payment but the forum is free and there’s lots going on there.

3. Workampers

Unless you’re retired, independently wealthy, or work from your laptop, you’ll probably need to seek out job opportunities along the road to put food in your babies’ mouths. Workampers.com helps RVers find work. According to their definition, “workampers” are adventuresome individuals, couples and families who have chosen a wonderful lifestyle that combines ANY kind of part-time or full-time work with RV camping.

This video explains how workamping with your family is possible.
